STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
 
Our students are involved in many activites both inside and outside the school environment.

NSW Country State Basketball
Congratulations to Brook Cincurak (Year 10) and Jessica Ward (Year 9) on their selection to the Under 16 NSW Country Basketball team.  They will travel to Perth in July to contest the National titles.  Ellie Gleeson (Year 12) and Emma Mahady (Year 10) will join the Under 18 squad to contest their National titles in Ballarat in July. Staff member, Dale Gleeson will accompany the Under 16 mens' team as their coach.  
Lloyd Murphy
Year 11 student, Lloyd Murphy recently represented the school in the Lions Youth of the Year Competition.  Lloyd took part in a panel interview, was challenged on his general knowledge of current affairs and events and competed in a public speaking competition.  This is where Lloyd shone, with the judges glowing in their praise of his speech and his ability to command attention from the crowd. Competitions like this are designed to challenge the students to go beyond their comfort zone.  Lloyd is to be congratulated on the manner in which he approached these challenges and the way in which he represented himself and the school.  
Breda O'Kane
Congratulations to Breda O'Kane (Year 12) who has been named the 2008 Norske Skog Young Achiever of the Year for her involvement in Netball.  In addition to playing in the top division of the O & M competition Breda regularly travels to Melbourne for competition games and State commitments.  
Aaron Vogel
The 25th National Youth Science Forum, 2008 at the Australian National University gave Year 12 student Aaron Vogel the opportunity to expereince science in the modern day world and to meet many scientists and make many new friends.

Aaron visited numerous scientific laboratories, enjoyed many social activites and particpated ina range of skill-building programs.  Aaron highly recommends any Year 11 student interested in science to apply for the 2009 NYSF.
